Rental Terms and Conditions

Requirements for a Scooter Rental

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must have a valid any class driver’s license.
  • You must have a major credit card

What is Included in the Rental Rate

Unlimited kilometers and no hourly charges
Use of vehicle for a 24 hour period.
Safety Equipment.

ACUMOTA have a right to ask client about short road test before rental. ACUMOTA may reject rental in case if driving skills will not be satisfied.

Customer Orientation

Every client will receive orientation to the scooter. The client orientation will cover all aspects of safe scooter operation, the clients' maintenance responsibilities, local and state laws. The client must check all of the safety features and the scooter's exterior with a company representative.

Fuel

Fuel costs are the client's responsibility. ACUMOTA claims no responsibility for scooter fuel consumption and mileage. Only premium fuel is permitted. If the scooter needs refueling, a fuel charge will be applied in the amount of $10.00 USD at the time of drop-off if you return the vehicle with a fuel level that is less than the pick-up fuel level or an empty tank. Otherwise, refueling fee will be charged.

Helmets (Included in Daily Rental Rate)

Helmets are provided with all scooter rentals and all tours at participating locations. Clients are encouraged to bring their own helmets for comfort and style. Helmets are required by law in all locations.

Additional Drivers

1 additional driver is permitted at no extra charge. The minimum age for an additional driver is 18 and a valid license is required.

Maintenance Responsibility

The customer is responsible for reporting mechanical failures immediately. Instructions and procedures for maintenance expense reimbursement are provided at pick-up. Customers may be held responsible for mechanical damage due to negligence in scooter operation.

Scooter Substitution

ACUMOTA reserves the right to substitute the scooter confirmed to rental client. Should ACUMOTA not be able to provide confirmed scooter a similar or better model will be provided to the client. This constitutes the maximum liability of ACUMOTA.

Security Deposit

A security deposit will be taken at reservation/pick-up (Authorization Only) and must be processed via valid credit card. The amount of security deposit is $300.00 USD. The security deposit will be fully refunded upon the return of the scooter and after an inspection by the company's representative. In case of any loss or damage. The client may lose all or a portion of the security deposit depending on the repair amount. If the repair cost is lower than the deposit amount, the balance will be returned to the client after the damages will be fully fixed (Based on the repair invoice).

Restrictions

Violation of listed restrictions voids all waivers and client will be held liable for damages. The driving area is permitted only in Quintana Roo state. Road Restriction: Rental scooters are not allowed on beaches.

Reservation And Deposit

For reservations under $200, all charges must be paid for at the time of booking. Reservations over $200 are eligible to pay a minimum deposit of 25% at the time of booking. All remaining balances must be paid in full before pick-up date and are collected automatically on the dates listed on the checkout page. For a group booking that is paid by one credit or debit card, ACUMOTA will charge the remaining group balance to the same card used for payment at the time of booking.

Pick-up, Return & Late Charges

Pick-Up Time of the rental scooter is accepted during the rental location business hours.

Return Time of rental motorcycle is accepted during rental location business hours. One rental day is based on a 24-hour rental period starting from the scheduled pick-up time. No refunds for early motorcycle returns are granted.

Late Charge: A $5 per hour penalty is assessed if the scooter is returned late from the scheduled drop off time.

Please note: If the scooter is returned after the rental location business hours, the customer is responsible for the scooter until it is satisfactorily checked in by the rental location (even if the check-in process occurs on the next business day).

Cancellation And Refunds

Cancellations made at least 10 days before the scheduled pick-up date will receive a full refund. If you cancel within 10 days, you may be entitled to a partial refund with the amount depending on when you cancel. All refunds are received as store credit, redeemable within one year from the issuing date.

Canceling between 7 and 10 days before the pick-up date

•  A 30% cancellation fee will apply, and a partial refund will be issued as a store credit

Canceling between 3 and 6 days before the pick-up date

•  A 60% cancellation fee will apply, and a partial refund will be issued as a store credit

Canceling within 3 days before the pick-up date

•  A 100% cancellation fee will apply, and no refund will be issued

Please note:

If you do not show up to pick up the vehicle at the specified pickup time, you will be considered a No Show and you are not entitled to a refund and you will be charged the full rental price.
Any balances remaining after Cancellation Fees have been applied will be issued in the form of a Store Credit that may be redeemed within one year.

Change Policy

Changes made at least 11 days before the scheduled pick-up date will not incur any fees. If you make a change within 10 days, you may be charged a change fee with the amount depending on when you made the change and the conditions. If a refund is issued as a result of the change, it will be provided in the form of store credit, redeemable within one year from the issuing date.

Changes made between 7 and 10 days before the pick-up date

•  Change of dates, locations, and vehicle models:

•  A 10% change fee will apply.

•  Change of rental options or extending reservation period:

•  No fee*.

Changes made between 3 and 6 days before the pick-up date

•  Change of dates, locations, and vehicle models:

•  A 20% change fee will apply.

•  Change of rental options or extending reservation period:

•  No fee*.

Changes made within 3 days before the pick-up date

•  Change of dates, locations, and vehicle models:

•  A 30% change fee will apply.

•  Change of rental options or extending reservation period:

•  No fee*.

Weather Conditions

ACUMOTA cannot be held liable for any unpleasant and unsuitable weather conditions. No refunds shall be granted for such conditions.

Payment Methods

ACUMOTA accepts the following methods of payment: Cash, VISA, Master Card, AMEX, Discover, Diners Club, and JCB. Travelers Cheques are not accepted for security deposit.

Peak Season surcharge

Peak Season surcharge is a variable charge that applies in some locations during high-demand periods, typically in December and January.

Booking Terms

Reservation must be paid in full to guarantee rate and rental date.
Discount rates are subject to blackout dates and availability.
All rental models and rates vary by location and season.

Responsibility, Insurance and Protection Plans

Insurance Policies and Surcharges

Federal mandatory liability insurance is included in your rental. You are not insured for Damage or Theft. 

Waiver coverage

All Theft and Damage Waivers and Supplemental Liability Insurance options are subject to the express terms and conditions of the rental contract and do not include Theft, coverage for injury, personal property, or any damage, especially of as the result of negligence such as illegal use or use of rental while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. A Police Report is required for all damages or accidents. All damages to rented scooters without a police report will be considered to be at the fault of the Renter.

Totally lost or damage scooter is subject to client’s charge of $2000.00 USD to $4000.00 USD depends on scooter model. 

Lost or broken keys charge is $50.00 USD. Lost or broken helmet charge is $100.00 USD each.

Supplemental Liability Insurance provides supplemental third-party liability insurance at limits excess of state-required minimum financial responsibility limits.

Roadside Assistance

Roadside Assistance Coverage provides towing and roadside assistance by an ACUMOTA approved vendor if your scooter becomes inoperable. The benefits include emergency road service towing (within 10 kilometers of occurrence) emergency fuel delivery (up to 2 liters) and jump start services. In purchasing the Roadside Assistance Coverage, we will waive the cost of any approved tow or road side assistance service unlimited.

Scooter Model Guarantee

Any reservation made within 24 hours of pickup is subject to availability. Please message our store location to confirm. In the event that your model of choice is not available, you will still receive a comparable model.
